Toxic Plants

Many common houseplants and cut flowers are highly toxic and fatal to cats, primarily Lilies, Aloe Vera, and Pothos. Remove these from the home entirely before bringing a kitten home.

Dangerous Cords and Strings

Kittens love to chew. Ensure electrical cables are hidden in cable tidies. Put away all hair bobbles, sewing thread, and string — if swallowed, linear foreign bodies can cause catastrophic intestinal damage.

Washing Machines and Recliners

Always check the drum of the washing machine or tumble dryer before turning it on, as kittens seek out warm, enclosed spaces. Be incredibly careful operating reclining sofas when a kitten is in the room.
