I have now used the green lipped mussel powder on my elderly cat for a couple of years now. I ran out of it at one point and saw a vast difference in his demeanor. Once he was back on the powder the change was 100% evident in the way he moved and his general outlook on life was so much better. That underlying low grade arthritic pain was obviously gone. Wonderful stuff! I have recommended this product to others and they have found it as effective too.

I purchased it for my elderly cat with arthritis (aged 16) and since using it I have honestly seen a vast improvement in her movements-she sits without one paw up at times-can stretch out forwards like she used to lie and has been more active since I started using this product-I am soooo pleased Thankyou

I was recommended this product for my 4 yr old rescue Jack Russell as one of her back legs was very stiff,it seems she had been living outside for sometime,so possible arthritis,so I used the green lipped mussel everyday and after two months my dogs leg was much better now after 6 month no more stiffness, but I still give to my dog every other day as a maintenance treatment.

How long will a 50g pot last?

Susan Pool

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Based on feeding 1 scoop/day, how long will the 50g pot last? It is difficult to set up a regular order without this information!

  • VioVet Staff

Hello

Thank you for your enquiry.

This does depend on the size of your dog/cat, the scoop is 2g and the feeding guidelines are as follow:

Cats and toy dogs 0.25 level scoop once daily
Small dogs 0.5 level scoop once daily
Medium dogs 1 level scoop once daily
Large dogs 1.5 level scoops once daily
Very large dogs 2 level scoops once daily

You just need to divide 50 by the grams per day your pet will need.

Hope that helps.

What weight ranges are the different dog sizes?

Susan Pool

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Please provide an idea of weights for the different dog sizes. Is a 28kg Labrador Large?

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for your query,

Unfortunatley, this is not something that Denes provide to us unfortunately. I would estimate the following, although this is very approximate.

Cats and toy dogs >4kg
Small dogs 4-10kg
Medium dogs 10-25kg
Large dogs 25-35kg
Very Large dogs 35kg<

As this is not an offical guide, however I hope this can help you with dosing your dog.

Green lipped mussel for cats

ANN TULL

my cat has to have b12 injections does G L M contain b12 and how much should I give her

  • VioVet Staff

Vitamin B12 injections contain much more than it is possible to get from green lipped mussel or any food items. It is possible to buy B12 tablets (cyanocobalamin) from a high street pharmacy so you could talk to your vet about using these instead.
